BANGLADESH
History
Evidence only (1470 AD) The
history of Bengal goes back as far as ancient literature "Veda". Hinduism and Buddhism reached this
region between 3rd Century BC and 12th Century AD, followed
by Islam in 13th Century and European countries in 15th
Century, each leaving various cultural influences.Bangladesh
went through the struggle for independence twice in
the 20th Century, first in 1947 from the Britain as
the east-half of Pakistan, then in 1971 from Pakistan,
after a 9 months long liberation war. The origin of
the movement for independence started in 1952 when the
people demanded to protect its own language, Bangla,
from Pakistan as one of the State languages instead
of Urdu only, the language spoken in Pakistan.
